FAQs
Getting married is a big deal and, in most cases, something you have never done before so you are bound to have questions! I have put together a list of the most frequently asked questions by brides and grooms which will hopefully help ease your mind and make you more informed in the lead up to your big day.
If there is anything you would like to ask that isn't included in my FAQs, please contact me and I will get back to you ASAP.

How much does a wedding celebrant charge?
My packages range from a full service Wedding Celebrant & MC Package at $1950, down to a small intimate Elopement Package for just 10 guests at $600. To check out the various packages on offer and the associates prices, please visit my services and pricing page.
What paperwork and evidence do we need to supply you?
Scan and email me a copy of your Passport OR your birth certificate and driver’s licence. If you have been married before, you will need to provide either your divorce certificate or, if your spouse has passed away, their death certificate.
What legal documentation is required to be completed?
You will lodge a Notice of Intended Marriage form, known as the NOIM, with me between one month and 18 months prior to your wedding date. Before your ceremony commences, you will sign a Declaration of No Legal Impediment to Marriage. This is usually done just prior to the ceremony commencing. After the ceremony, together with two witnesses over the age of 18, you will sign two copies of the Official Certificate of Marriage and a Form 15 Certificate of Marriage. The Certificate of Marriage is yours to keep after your ceremony
Will we be legally married on our wedding day?
Yes! Once you say your legal vows during the ceremony, you are legally married. The signing of the registry after the ceremony has finished is the legal proof of your marriage.
What signature do I sign with on the day?
You will sign the same signature that you signed your NOIM with.
What will you wear for our wedding?
This is a good one! I have designed a wardrobe catalogue for you to choose from! I have a selection of semi-formal, formal and smart casual dresses with different prints and colours as well as plain professional dresses. I share my catalogue with each couple just prior to their wedding so that I can complement your theme/style for the day.
Do you have a PA?
I have a professional BOSE S1 with Bluetooth Connectivity which can be used for your music if you wish. I have Seinnheiser mic that produces clear, crisp audio so all your loved ones can hear your vows and I Dos!
Do I have to memorise my vows?
No you don’t and I would never encourage that either. Your wedding day is such a high emotion day, you do not need that extra stress on top of all the excitement and nerves that you will experience on your wedding day.
I always print your vows that you have emailed me and present them to you in a professional Vow Book for you to read to each other, or you can repeat each line of your vow after me (if you are a tad nervous). Also, don’t feel that you HAVE TO say personal vows, do whatever feels right for you! Legally there is only one sentence that you need to say word for word – the rest is up to you! Whatever you are comfortable with, is what we will work with.
Who can be our witnesses?
You will need two witnesses to sign your wedding papers at the ceremony, to make your marriage legal. The two witnesses can be any two adults (over the age of 18) except the celebrant.
Would you mind travelling to our wedding?
I would love to! I’m based on the Gold Coast, but I love travelling for weddings. I regularly conduct weddings in Sydney and can legally conduct weddings in any Australian State or Territory.
I’m up for adventure so hot air balloon, rock shelves and cliff tops are all on the cards! Travel fees will apply so let me know where you are thinking and we can work it out!
Generally, how long are your ceremonies?
Most ceremonies are between 20 and 30 minutes but this is up to you. I find that by the time you insert 3 songs, the couples love story, vows, rings that it is generally 20 minutes. When you add rituals and readings it can take it up to 30 minutes. Generally venues always allow 30 mins for each ceremony.
Do we pay your fee upfront?
No, I require a $300 payment, known as your booking fee up front. This is non-refundable and locks your date in! Basically, so I don’t take another wedding booking that date. The rest of your payment is due 7 days prior to your ceremony.
What happens if you are sick on my wedding day?
So far, so good – has not happened yet. I’m proudly a member of many Celebrant Associations and have been active for the past 7 years. I have a wide group of like-minded Celebrant friends locally who are available to take over for me.
All my ceremonies are prepared in advance, so I just transfer all legal paperwork and the ceremony script electronically to the new celebrant.
We would like to book you for our big day. How do we do that?
If you have decided to have me as your celebrant, that’s great! I require a $300 booking fee that will lock in your date and time. Shoot me an email letting me know that you want to book and that you have paid your booking fee. I will then advise you on the next steps.”
I hope these FAQs made the wedding celebrant part of your wedding a little easier. Best of luck on your big day!
